Founded in: 2015
Financing status: USD 2 million for Series A round in 2017
Artificial intelligence (AI) powered personal shopping assistant service startup Niki.ai has raised USD 2 million for its Series A financing round from SAP.iO and existing investor Unilazer Ventures. Haresh Chawla (a partner at True North) and Arihant Patni from Hive Technologies also participated in this financing round along with some U.S. and German investors. Last year, former Tata Sons Chairman Rata Tata and Unilazer Ventures made an undisclosed amount of investment in the company.
Niki.ai was founded in 2015 by IIT Kharagpur alumni Sachin Jaiswal, Keshav Prawasi, Nitin Babel and Shishir Modi. Niki is a digital chat based AI powered shopping assistant.
Niki provides a conversational interface for its users. It guides users along with recommendations to reach the right services, and then completes the service loop by finishing transactions for users. The user can search, discover, choose, make payment, and complete the transaction. Niki can perform a variety of tasks ranging from mobile recharges to local cab bookings and assisting users with online shopping. It aspires to be a one-stop destination for all of the user’s purchasing needs.
The startup will use the newly raised investment to strengthen its machine learning capabilities, build voice and multilingual functionalities, and expand its distribution networks.
